Sample Professional Letter of recommendation for the Fulbright
“My name is Ahmed Daniyal Siddiqui and I am humbly the Country Head of Premier Energy Private Limited. After pursuing my Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Strathclyde University, sponsored by Pakistan 50th Anniversary Award, I experienced an incomparable and vast horizon of knowledge. All offices of Premier Energy run under me and I am a hardcore entrepreneur and an energy expert.
Rida joined Premier Energy last year as an intern. After seeing her potential, zeal, and enthusiasm to bring a real-time change in the sector of energy, we hired her as Team Leader- Technical. After being offered this position, she stepped forward in her new role with consistent hard work, dedication and unrelinquishable zest to learn and understand various facets of energy.
Ms. Rizvi has been entrusted with numerous responsibilities of the organization. As an environmentalist who is enthusiastic in promoting sustainable activities, she has been Program Coordinator for Premier Energy’s Awareness Program on “Illuminating Lives through Renewable Energy”. Seeing her quick learning capability and acumen, large scale projects were handed over to her, examples to which are preparing Power Purchase Agreement Proposal for Nestle, Unsolicited Proposal for 5 MW Solar Power Plant handled by Alternate Energy Development Board, 500 kW Proposal for Hub Power Company, 400 kW Grid-tied Proposal for Karachi Golf Club, etc. I would also like to mention her incredible skills in Energy Conservation and Audit Program with Punjab Energy Department through which her R& D skills were utilized in forming a mechanism for conducting energy audits along with conservation for Government College University.
In a very short period of time, Rida was able to understand the energy market and technologies. She is innovative and enthusiastic in learning new aspects of renewable energy. Her interest in sustainable development is truly reflected in her ability to understand and practice on various energy software like ABB sizing tool, Skelion, BlueSoleil and PV Syst.
Along with her technical skills, Ms. Rizvi has shown great management skills by leading the Service & Maintenance Team of Premier Energy. She is able to handle the SAP Business One Plus software, an Enterprise Resource Planning Tool which makes her an ardent leader in Sustainable Development in terms of Management. I think these qualities will help her bring unmatched international experience to the Fulbright Program and will be beneficial to both Pakistan and her host country-USA.
With all of the above, I enthusiastically recommend her to the coveted Scholarship.
Sincerely,
Sample Academic Letter of recommendation for the Fulbright
“Dear Sir or Madam:
I hope the following account I write of Ms.Rida Rizvi justifies my assessment of her and she is able to impress the Fulbright Admissions team, the same way I have been impressed with her in my encounter(s) with her.
I am Dr. Sher Jamal Khan, Head of Department of Institute of Environmental Sciences & Engineering, NUST. I have had the pleasure of knowing Rida over the past four years, who quickly gained my attention through her inquisitive questions and inevitable zest to learn. Under my supervision and tenure, an internship was offered to her for a renewable energy project, namely Salinity Gradient Solar Pond, funded by WaterAid, a U.K based non-government organization worth 10 Million Rupees. Ms. Rizvi further continued this as her final year project worked under me for her final year project on Salinity Gradient Solar Pond. She devised numerous innovative ideas like making the diffuser herself, creating gradient by carrying out respective calculations and her zest to make electricity from the internal heat exchanger which unfortunately could not be accomplished due to lack of funds, were commendable. She also was the corresponding author of her final year project thesis, “Designing and Construction Of Pilot Scale Salinity Gradient Solar Pond And Gradient Establishment Along With The Heat Extractions”. All of these traits galvanized the Assessment Committee of final year project to collaboratively give her an “A” which is given to the top 5 projects of every batch.
Miss Rizvi has been taught two subjects by me: Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment. I am the Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering and I have known her for the past four years at her time at NUST. While I monitored her, she has shown an appreciable interest in the field of water and wastewater treatment. This is highly applaudable as students find this subject to be a bit dry, however, Rida thoroughly enjoyed it. Not only this, Ms. Rizvi was successfully able to work on a class project in GPS- X software that involved water modeling and its treatment. In this thesis report, she showed leadership as she herself went ahead and explored numerous water quality parameters based on the treatment systems, according to which a comprehensive study was made by her regarding the Hydraulic Retention Time and Sludge Retention Time.
In summing up, Miss. Rizvi is among those very few people who have the ability to pursue higher studies, beneficial for both, herself and our country, Pakistan as she is determined to move forward with steady footing.
For any details regarding her, feel free to contact me.
Thank you once again”
