      • Hi so Im applying to fulbright this year…and I was going through your blog. And I just saw this comment. Is there a reason why there were no MBA intakes?
Its a little scary because I want to do my MBA..

        • Hello – Fulbright prefers non commercial programs over commercial ones.

  12. Dear Talha,

I am an engineering with a CGPA of 3.38. My GRE scores are 155 Verbal, 161 Quant and 3.5 AWA. As the FB deadline is in mid May, is it wise to attempt GRE again by 20th April and score 320+ or it won’t make much of a difference? Please help.

    • Hello – Well quant score is low for an engineering major. I ll definitely recommend retaking the GRE for the quant section improvement. Verbal is fine

  13. AssamUalaikm sir
Sir please also include some information about PhD in Natural sciences, particularly in Physics. How much score in GRE is required for California universities.

    • W.A.S for physics you will need a 165+ on quant and around 152-155 verbal

  14. please share GRE scores required for PhD in Psychology. Any profile in this regard?
one more thing..plz tell how do the Fulbright team verify online recommendaion letters? do they talk to referees on phone?

  15. Assalam O Alaikum,

I wish to ask two questions.

    1. Firstly, how long is the average time duration from applying in Fulbright to going to USA for higher degrees particularly PhDs.

    2. Secondly, I gave GRE test yesterday, and acquired Q:155, V:148. MS Mech Engg from South Korea (GPA:4.11/4.5). 3 conference papers and 1 journal article in about 4.0 IF journal and one Under review also in high IF. Under grad GPA:3.15/4.00). 1 year trainee experience in a thermal power plant and about 2 years of teaching experience at university (under-grad level).

    Regard,
    Tauseef

    • W.A.S

      1) The duration of the PHD program is generally 5 years in the US. Between applying and actually going to US there is a 1.5-year duration.
      2) Your GRE quant score is really low for an engineering major. You will need at least a 164 on the quant section to stand a solid chance.

      • Thankyou Talha bhai…:)

  16. Hi, I am confused about the degree and transcripts requirement – do we need to send the university attested hard copies to the USEFP mailing address or do we just need to upload the degrees? In case we are only scanning and uploading the original degree, do we really need it to be attested since it already has all the stamps and signs on it.

    • Hello Baig, Only upload the scanned version of the degrees and transcripts. Yes attested scans are required – attestation has to be done by the university registrar.

  17. Thank you for responding, Talha. If I get my original degrees and transcripts attested from HEC and upload them that should also be fine? Since getting them attested from Punjab University will be equal amount of hassle and it’ll cost the same too. Thoughts?

  18. Only 1 applicant from Computer Science space, selected for Artificial Intelligence?

That too from Electrical Engg bachelor’s..

  19. AoA
Sir I took GRE General on 26April 2018 but could get Verbal score 135, i.e., below required cutoff. Although Quantitative was 158. Now I could not retake before 17th May i.e., after Fulbright deadline. Is there any chance that my later score after deadline may be considered?

    • W.A.S You can retake the GRE before 31st May and send them the updated scores.

  20. All successful Phd have vast professional experience. I recently have completed m.phil and have no experience. Should I apply?

    • Yes you can apply if you have publications

  21. I do think it would be helpful to include the universities that that the applicants have been admitted to.

  22. What about M.S in geology??

  23. Hello! Congratulations to all the Fulbright Scholars!

I am an American living in Los Angeles, near the University of Southern California.

I have had the incredible privilege of befriending many Fulbright Scholars who began their studies here last Fall, here at USC and around the country.

I hope to get to know some of you as well!

  24. Dear Talha kindly tell me about Ph.D in Agriculture. I did M.phil in Agriculture. Kindly tell approximately how much score is required for Agrarian to get Fulbright??? Is there any prefrence for verbal or quantitative scores?? Please tell. Waiting for feedback. Thanx

    • 310+ is the average for agriculture….155 on each section is perfectly safe.

  25. is there any profile of PhD Psychology in past Fulbright scholars?

    • The only profiles are shared above.

  26. Sir I’m doing Bs chemistry. I want to get fullbright to persue my masters… so what could be the effective score in quant and verbal? Is there any Fulbright scholarship that offers masters leading to p.hd? And is it just open for once a year??

    • So for chemistry the average score is 319 (163 Quant)….. FB does not offer MS leading to PHD and Fulbright opens in Feb each year and closes in May.

  27. Hi. I am a female, aged 35 and I m serving in a government job relating to law. I want to apply for fulbright but I am a bit concerned, because I don’t know whether a candidate of this age would be given prefrence. Further to apply for LLM, what score do I need to have in GRE.

    • Hello – Age is not a factor for Fulbright selections. 310+ is the average GRE score!

  28. Talha,
I have some questions about Fulbright, how can I get in touch with you directly?

  29. Hi. I am 35 and have 8 years of experience in government sector. I have done my graduation in Computer Science, MS in Computer Engineering. I have also done MA political science lately.
