Oxford & Cambridge Universities in the UK offer Noon Educational Scholarships for Students in Pakistan 2014. Check the eligibility & and deadline.

Overview

The Vicky Noon Foundation provides scholarships to Pakistani students, males and females for studying in UK. The Noon educational foundation scholarship is available in all full-time undergraduate and graduate programs. However please note that these scholarships are only available for studying in Oxford and Cambridge universities. Applicants must come back to Pakistan after completing their study on the Noon scholarship and should not have had studied outside of Pakistan before.

Who can apply?

You can apply for the Noon scholarship if you are:

• A Pakistani national residing in Pakistan.
• A candidate who has not studied outside of Pakistan before.
• Planning to return to Pakistan after completing your education.
• Applying to Oxford or Cambridge universities in the UK only.
• Not applying to any certifications, diplomas, part-time or non-matriculated courses, or are deferring your entry.

What subjects can I study?

You can study undergraduate (Bachelors) and graduate (Master’s or PhD) level full-time degree courses in:

• Any field at the Oxford University.
• The field of natural, applied and social sciences at Cambridge University

How many scholarships are offered?

The number of scholarships varies.

What is the duration of the award?

As you can apply for either an undergraduate or graduate program under the Noon grant, your duration of scholarship award will vary depending on the type of course you are pursuing.

Which country (-ies) can I study at?

This scholarship is awarded for full-time study only at the Oxford and Cambridge university in the UK.

What expenses are covered?

Since one can get the reward for both a graduate or undergraduate study, the value of the reward varies from program to program and person to person. The rewards vary from £3000 to fully funded study including living and food.

Please note that if the duration of your program is more than one year then the students performance is evaluated at the end of each year to see if the funding can be continued.

What is the selection criteria

The Noon awards are made based on the following merit:

• Past academic performance
• The financial need of an applicant
• The social impact that a student can make upon his return to Pakistan

Note that applications are considered in July each year and successful students will be notified by August.

How to Apply

There is no separate process of applying to Noon scholarship. You just need to make an application to the relevant fields in Oxford or Cambridge universities and opt for the scholarship within the application form. The successful applicants will then be automatically considered for the Noon award.

What is the deadline?

The deadline depends on the deadline of the respective universities. For undergraduate admissions the deadline is 15th October at both Oxford University and Cambridge University.

For graduate study at Oxford University the deadline is in January whereas for Cambridge University 31 March for research courses and in some disciplines it is January and April.

Finally, simply check with the respective departments and universities to get the final application deadline.
